About the event
We warmly invite you to our closing event on Friday 8 March 2024.
This event is a chance to learn more about how the Building Africa exhibition was made through collaborations between the ASA research team and architects in Ethiopia, South Africa and Ghana.
It brings the researchers and design teams together for the first time, to share ideas about collaboration, the processes of interpreting research, and experiences of sharing it with publics in Addis Abeba, Johannesburg, Accra and London.
- 3.30-4.30pm the gallery will be open for a guided tour by the curators and designers
- 5.00-6.30pm round table discussion between curators and designers
- 6.30-8.00pm drinks reception

- Nahom Teklu, architect based in Addis Abeba
- Khensani Jurczok-de Klerk and Aude Tollo from the Matri-Archi(tecture) Collective, based in South Africa and Switzerland
- Augustine Owusu-Ansah and Lois Quartey, architects based in Accra
- Julia Gallagher and Kuukuwa Manful, researchers and curators
The event is chaired by Amelia Odida from the Department of Politics and International Studies, SOAS.
